Is it too late to start over at 40?
Have you ever felt that starting over, especially after 40, is an impossible dream? What if the very challenges that brought you to your knees could also be the foundation for your greatest triumph? Meet Noelle, the visionary behind Mordéa Home – a resilient mother and proud multicultural Australian who proves that it's never too late to rebuild, redefine, and create something truly beautiful.
A Humble Beginning and Early Struggles
It started with a vision. Noelle aspired to transform her innate love for fashion and design into a range of beautifully simplistic fashion pieces that are Australian-first. In 2015, Noelle built her first business from scratch and launched Morrisday the Label by herself from her humble Sydney apartment. Just like any other small business, growth started slow. Noelle faced skepticism, logistical hurdles and financial burden, however, she refused to give up on her dreams so easily. Year after year, her efforts slowly paid off, she hit new milestones such as forming her own team, global launch, and pieces worn by global fashion icons.

2019 was the peak of Morrisday the Label, a global successful business loved by many. But it all came crashing down in 2020 when COVID-19 hit. Sales were at an all-time low, resources were stretched thin and she inevitably parted ways with her team. That moment in time, she felt like she lost everything she worked so hard for. Soon after, she gave birth to her son, pulling the brakes on her business and dreams. Noelle faced the biggest mental struggles yet, but with the support of her husband, she focused on her new chapter in life, becoming a mother.

Is it too late to pivot?
Don’t get me wrong, Morrisday the Label is still alive to this day. Throughout motherhood, Noelle kept the business running and also spent a lot of time looking at her home and reflecting. “What if I could make products for homes that are multifunctional and aesthetically pleasing?” However, one fleetful idea comes with many more doubtful ones.
“I spent so much time on my first business, starting again will be hard.”
“What if I lose more money than I gain?”
“Am I too old to start over?”
YES, you spent a lot of time on your first business, but that also means you also spent a lot of time building your experience and knowledge. YES, there is always a risk of losing money, but if you never take the risk, you’ll never achieve your dreams. And NO, you are NEVER too old to start over and here’s proof…
A Home Built with Love
In 2024, Noelle turned her dreams into reality by taking everything she knew from her fashion and design background by launching Mordéa Home, hitting each milestone within months, instead of years. Today, Mordéa Home stands as a testament to that journey. Every piece we offer is chosen with intention, every collection curated with reflection of Noelle’s values and deep understanding of what makes a house a home.
